Modern Home

Perched atop Red Mountain with commanding views of Birmingham's skyline, construction began in late 2022 on this California style modern estate that blends cutting-edge design with an unmatched views of Red Mountain and the valley below.

The massive modern home, completely hidden from the street, has been designed to take full advantage of expansive views of the city skyline & the valley below. Tucked behind a hedge curtained approach from the street, the home is completely hidden from view - once inside, it's like crossing a threshold into an expansive hidden modern sanctuary.

The rear of the home is situated to showcase the stunning vista views of the valley below the site. The floor to ceiling glass windows overlook an infinity edge pool surrounded with generous amounts of Turkish travertine limestone pavers. Much of the home is accented with exposed Corten steel beams and retaining walls that flow seemlessly from the site's sloped elevation. The outdoor areas, including broad terraces and courtyards, extend the living spaces and frame views across Red Mountain and to the city below.

The architecture is a study in clean lines and simple but elegant geometry, with a restrained palette of concrete, corten steel, and glass. Deep roof overhangs and floor to ceiling windows work together to balance light and volume, while massive 12 foot glass walls connect the main living spaces to the surrounding landscape. The scale of the home is massive and cannot be appreciated from pictures alone.

At first glance, it feels like you’ve taken a wrong turn and ended up in the Hollywood Hills — but this modern stunner is very much at home atop Red Mountain.

Walls of glass, an expansive resort style glass pool, and massive indoor and outdoor entertaining areas are sure to make this a memory making showpiece for the owners and their guests once it's complete.

Red Mountain has never seen a home quite like this — welcome to Birmingham's own version of the Bird Streets.
